Lugnaquilla Via North Prison.

We had an interesting day today when we climbed The North Prison on Lugnaquilla Co Wicklow. The day started from Fentons pub at the foot of Lug, from there it was up onto Camerahill and a long traverse across to the foot of Lug where we headed up The North Prison. Lots of snow still about but very wet at the start. Conditions improved underfoot nearer the top where we met quite a few groups out enjoying the snow. Visibility was very poor at the summit where a wrong bearing would have you lost over the edge, so it was with great care we headed back along the "tourist" route back to Fentons Pub before the forecasted rain came. Another great day out on the Irish Hills.  C
